Living with troublesome people

Hi, guys. It's been a long time since I've posted anything because I've been busy with my university life. It's been hard to adjust to living and study in another country.

Sometimes, I ask myself why I've landed together with this band of people all with some kind of problems.

A: Hard-working but cannot get along with everybody without looking at benefits and an arrogant bitch. If she helped you then she wants something back.
B: A person that's very nice to you upfront but really dislike you deep inside.
C: A self-centered person who only care about you a lot when she's in a rough patch but don't really care about you when you need her.

It all came to me that I got nobody that I can really rely on when I'm here. It happened when during a holiday trip, A and B really showed their true colours. A keeps complaining about the trip and pulls a long face. Throw tantrums before the trip and made everybody miserable. WTF!!! If you don't want to go then bloody stay at home!

B made me see her true feelings towards me when I misplaced our hostel card, she cursed me under her breath "screw you", as if i can't hear that. That made me realised she dislike me.

As for C, it happened when I was suddenly depressed from an action done by A and B, I've cried and she said she'll come to my room and comfort me but she never came. I waited her for 3 hrs, expecting her but she never did. I realise that, she's not a friend in need. I realise that I should not open myself to people so easily. It made me feel weak.

I think from today onwards, I have to learn not to be so nice anymore. I have to be as selfish and a jerk like them.

I know I'm ranting. Sorry, but it made me feel good after typing all these out. Sigh....

Sennheiser MX400-CS

I’ve always wanted a good pair of earphones to replace my Nokia headset that came with my phone. That headset is uncomfortable and it’s a in-ear headset and it keep dropping off which is getting annoying. One day, a friend of mine took out a pair of Sony earphone and I asked her about the price. She told me it’s good and it’s not too pricey and it’s durable. Then, I went on the internet to search for some models that suit my needs in the Sony website but I didn’t really like their designs so I searched Sennheiser’s earphones instead and found this model. I’ve heard of Sennheiser’s reputation for making good headphones and I was also attracted by the carrying case, lol, so I went to Mid-Valley later and bought this with Christmas discount which was really worth it cause it look and sounds great! It has a clear treble and not too much bass which really suit the type of music I listen to such as rock, pop, and acoustic.

Pros: Clear treble and not too excessive bass.

Cons: Only got a pair of sponge for the earphones.

2011 New Year Resolution

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted in here, I know. Many things had happened to me since then. I’m now a first year pharmacy student. Things have been hard on me when I started and I’ve struggled. I hope things get better this year for me. I want to write down my new year resolutions so I can be motivated somehow to do them, hehe.

Here’s the list:

1) I want to post more often in this blog.

2) I want to improve in my MC and DF subjects.

3) I want to be able learn website designing well.

4) I want to be able to finish my assignments early.

5) I want to improve in my driving.

6) I want to learn the skills to stay up late at night and study.

My trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

I went to Kota Kinabalu last week for 5 days to visit my long lost relatives which was my mom's mother and half-sister. It was fun! The place there was completely different from here. It was clean there and the shop houses were mostly joined together like a long house. The neighbourhood there was quite safe. Many people kept their gates open and were not afraid of robbers.

There were many kinds of seafood there. Some I question whether it is edible or not like the puffer fish. Lol! The beach there were clean and beautiful. The waters were blue and clear. No rubbish littering on the sands. The Manukan Island had a beautiful beach. The boat trip the island there was fun and it only took about 15 minutes.

The Creatures of Permaisuri Lake

I've lived fifteen years of my life near the park which has a huge lake called Tasik Permaisuri. I always go there to walk and jog. It's a pretty popular park. Ask anybody they'll know where is it.

The park is really big with paths that go through the secondary jungle. In that jungle you'll find all kinds of living creatures such as wild chickens, civet cat, monkeys, monitor lizards, magpies, etc. Many of these animals I havs just mentioned can only be seen by chance especially the wild chicken, I saw it flew across a path into the jungle one day. Yup, I mean flew. Few feet above the ground. Chickens reared by people can't fly because they're not lean like the wild ones.

The lake is the biggest attraction here though. Many people came here to picnic and have a good time with their families. Many come here to exercise, There are some children came to swim in it too. I remembered I used to love to come feed the turtles and talapias with bread. I like to see the turtles come in big group and snap out the breads. However, the fishes beat them to it all the time. Lol!

Well, all of them have become a memory in the past. Not because I've grown tired of feeding them. It's because almost all the turtles are dead. Even the numbers of fishes has been reduced.

Why? The lake has become so polluted with rubbish, sewage water, and breads that eventually kills most of the turtles and many fishes. It didn't happen back then when toilets weren't built and the place isn't developed. After they developed the place, more people come and more brainless people throw rubbish and feed unscrupulously to the turtles.

How unscrupulously? Well, I'll tell you how. They throw the entire piece of bread into the lake. I mean come on, any common sense will tell us to tear the bread into smaller pieces to make it easier for the turtles to eat. Even the fishes go after the smaller pieces. And some people throw muffins (the pink coloured type used for offering at the Buddhist altar) for them. For goodness sake, turtles don't eat muffins. Not just one person, many other people did the same as well. Can't they see the first person who threw the muffins in the turtles have no interest in them at all? These eventually decay and pollute the lake later.

After that, I lost count the times I've walked around the lake and smell the smell of rotting flesh. I've seen many dead turtles and fishes floating on the surface. Flies flew around them and smaller fishes feed on their dead bodies. Now, nobody sit by the lake and feed the turtles anymore since none surface for a long time already.

Last year I got my wish. I've always wished there are ducks and geese swimming in the lake and it came true. First it was geese. There were two species. See the pictures below.

They were a great attraction at first. Many people stopped by to see them swim in the lake. Sadly, few months later all except one began to disappear. Later, three ducks were added but they too, disappeared.

Yesterday, we've finally found the source of the disappearance. It is the work of greedy people who see the geese and ducks as nothing more than food instead of decoration. Yesterday there was a man who swam into the lake and capture the last remaining goose. He was so happy. He even had a grin on his face. Unluckily for him, someone reported his theft to the city council guards who were patrolling there. They made him release the goose back to the lake but didn't fine him.

It is so sad indeed to see the lake's number of animals and environment deteriorating.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I've finally completed my semester 2 exam! Woot! But I'm worried about my result though...sigh. I'm not sure how I've done. I don't know what to do if my results turn up like last time. Maybe I'll consider jumping down from UCSI 5th floor. LOL! Just kidding.

After spending one and a half months studying hard for my 8 papers fatigue is starting to catch up on me. I can't sleep well during exams because of anxiety, and also sleeping past 3 am, but sometimes I can sleep like a log and unable to get up though, lol. These inconsistent sleeping time make me get insomnia now. It's getting harder to fall asleep for me now.

Well, I've finally got 2 weeks holiday till Semester 3 starts, the final and hardest one. GULP! So now I'm gonna enjoy to the fullest. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'll update more often from now on, that is if I don't have any writer's block, hehe. I may be going for a vacation later, hehe.

Movie Review: Slumdog Millionaire

Why no new post lately...

Sorry folks, for not posting much lately. I have just finished my semester 1 exam like a month ago but I haven't posted anything much either. Guess I was too happy so I kept playing computer games and watch TV shows, hehe.

After the long exam, it was Chinese New Year!!! And also not the end of my stress... During that time, I gotta do last minute spring cleaning and help up in baking cookies and cakes. There's one cake I made all by myself, that is the Rich Chocolate Nut Cake.

Ya, ya, the nuts seemed uneven. I'm still an amateur at baking, hehe. It's a flourless chocolate cake with brandy. It's that kind of cake people only eat at tea time or as a dessert after lunch or dinner. After baking it, I brought some to my uncle's house for reunion dinner. Luckily I did, there's no dessert available there beside my cake. Everybody love it and finished it that night.

On the second day of CNY, we went back to my mom's hometown in Sitiawan. We celebrated CNY as well as my mom's uncle's birthday. We went to a restaurant to celebrate. They booked like 10 dishes for every table! We ate until we can hardly move! Lol! It was a nice trip though, I got many ang pows! Muahahaha!

Then, was just visiting, visiting and visiting. Went to friends' and relatives' houses for party a few times till college starts again.

During the CNY I've watched two great series. One is a famous Japanese drama, One Litre of Tears and the other one is Kyou Kara Maoh! or rather known as God(?) Save the King!

One Litre of Tears or One Litre no Namida is an adapatation of the diary of a Japanese girl named Aya Kitō, who suffered from spinocerebellar ataxia. Throughout the series is about how she cope with her illness. Despite knowing she's going to die one day, she did not lose all the will to live. She got the illness when she was 15 and her life ended when she was 25. This is a very sad and touching true story.

Kyou Kara Maoh!, on the other hand, is a funny anime series about a boy named, Shibuya Yuuri who got flushed into the other world when he tried to save a boy from the bullies but ended up getting his head shoved and flushed into the toilet bowl by the bullies instead. Lol.

In the other world, he found himself being hail as the next Maoh or Demon King of Shin Makoku. He later began to learn that the demons, called Mazoku in the series, do not live in peace with the humans. He was reluctant to be the Maoh at first but later agrees to it and try to bring peace between the humans and Mazoku. Throughout the series, Yuuri always ended up in hilarious situations such as accidentally got himself engaged to a boy, Wolfram, when he slapped him. In the Mazoku's custom, slapping someone is asking that someone for his or her hand in marriage, LOL! If you like comedy/adventure/shounen-ai genre then you'll enjoy this series :)

Kyou Kara Maoh

My favourite character in this series is Conrad Weller. He's the most handsome guy in the series without looking too girly or act too wimpish. There are many male characters in this series that look either too girly or act too wimpish. Even the main character, Yuuri can act very wimpish sometimes. Lol.

Anime Review: One Piece TV Special - Romance Dawn

This TV Special, Romance Dawn, is the anime remake that retells the story of Romance Dawn V.1. This remake occurs after the Thriller Bark Arc and before the Sabaody Archipelago arc in the anime series. As such, all 9 members of the Straw Hat crew are present, as oppose to the original story, which only featured Luffy. It was released on November 24, 2008.

In this TV special, the Straw Hat Crew run out of provisions, so they send Luffy off to search for food to replenish their own food stocks. He encounters a girl named Silk, who has mistaken Luffy as a pirate from Crescent-Moon Galley's crew. Galley has threatened her town and Luffy promises Silk that he'll help her defeat him.

Tired Tuesday...

Woke up at 6.30am on tuesday morning this week, feeling groggy and extremely sleepy because of the unfitful sleep yesterday night after viewing a very revolting photo. Ugggghhhh!! Really gave me nightmares.

Then, ate breakfast and took my puppy to the vet for vaccination. We were the first to arrive and took the first number. Poor Katie had to be left in the cage outside the waiting room because no dogs are allowed in the waiting room. I was reluctant to leave her alone outside in the cage for this was the first visit to the vet for her and she's still a puppy and may end up freaked up in a unknown place. My parents say its fine but later, my fears were right.

She was curled up in the far corner of her cage. She wasn't noisy and didn't even attempt to nip me when I pet her the whole time she was outside. She did that a lot when we're at home, LOL.

Her fears worsen when someone brought a big white Spitz and place it in the cage opposite her. The silly dog kept barking at my dog. She barks back in self defence but backing up to the cage's far wall. I told her 'No', she stopped barking and look up at me while the other dog kept barking at her.

We still have to leave her out there for about 20 minutes before the counter open and patients can start to see the vet. After filling in some forms, we get to see the vet at 9 am.

Poor Katie was scared stiff. She was trembling all over when we place her on the table for the vet to examine her. The vet, a man around his 20s, took her temperature and said it was kind of high. So he said he will take her temperature later she had calmed down. We weighed her first then.

We pet and stroke her back the whole time to calm her down. She lie down like a Sphinx and curled up against me while I tried to calm her. After a few minutes, the vet took her temperature again and said it's okay now to give the injection.

After she had been vaccinated, we went home. Katie was back to her usual self when we reached home.

I ate a packet of nasi lemak. Then tried to study my m'sian notes for my exam next week. But it was so boring and I was tired so I ended up felling asleep twice on the table. The 3rd time I decided to go to sleep till 3 pm.

After that, got up and read a novel till 5 pm. Then went for a walk in the park near my home.

Then, came back and watch America's Funniest Home Videos at 7.30 pm before dinner.

After dinner went back to studying M'sian studies notes. But it was SO BORING!!! I ended up unable to concentrate and couldn't remember much.

Later went online for a while then went to sleep till the next morning.

Dog Talk: Katie

This is Katie, my three month old energetic, playful, destructive, glutton and noisy puppy. She's just three months old and her size is this big already. She's so big that makes us forget that she's just three months old! Lol! She grows from a puny and fragile pup in the pic below to a more than one foot long pup above in just three months.

She's a mongrel which I suspect that is a cross between a German Shephard dog and another mongrel dog of unknown ancestry. I didn't get to see her parents when I went to Petaling Jaya, Selangor near 1 Utama to get her so I don't know for sure whether my suspicion was correct. She's big boned. Black and tan in colour and has some black on the muzzle. She has a black saddle on her back like that of a western German kind of German Shephard dog. All these are the common physical traits of a GSD.

Her owners didn't want to let us go to their house to choose the puppies but instead chose to take the whole litter of puppies to 1 Utama for us to pick instead. I guess they didn't want us to find out one of her parent is a GSD because many people won't want if they knew she got GSD blood.
Her owners were desparate to give away the puppies. She hasn't weaned yet when we got her home. If you buy puppies from breeders, they usually let you take the pup home after it has weaned.

Anyway, I'm not bothered much if she actually has GSD blood in her although my parents are worried about it. They're afraid that she'll grow up to be too fierce that can even bite her own owners. Yeah, yeah, I know there's many people out there thinks the same too. Remember this; GSDs don't take kindly to beatings and abuse. If you don't practice these two, and give it the attention it needs and socialise it properly, you'll be fine. It only turn against you if you abuse it and make it feel it's time to defend itself. They're highly intelligent dogs so they're not for everybody.

Well, I like my dog the way she is although many people have negative comments about her alsation heritage. I like it more that she has alsation heritage which gives her intelligence, alertness and obedience. She's easy to train and obedient. In just two months she already know how to sit on command, shake hand, heel on a leash, and play fetch.

She's wild and extremely energetic. She's like active throughout the day! She sleeps very little and is always ready to play. Lol!

Introduction

Hi, I'm Eunice. I don't have a nickname that rhymes with my actual name except for Soo Ling that translates to forest in mandarin, hahaha! My other nickname that my friend gave me is turtle because of my love for turtles when I was 14, hehe. I kept a terrapin turtle back then as a pet but I later release him back to the lake. I shall write more about my pets later in my blog. Anyway, I prefer to be called by my real name, hehe.

Okay, back to the introduction. This is my first post. I know, I know I've opened an account here for a long time but I still haven't written anything yet. I opened a blog account after reading my friends blogs which look fun to write. I was soooooo excited to to open an account and I did! And realised that to my horror...I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT TO WRITE FOR MY FIRST POST!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!

So anyway, here I am, giving my best shot. I have no experience in writing blogs so please bear with me till the end and don't fall asleep. Hehe.

I'm 18 years old. I'm currently doing my A-levels in UCSI. I've finally gotten used to college life except for the exams though. I haven't sit for my first semester exam for my A-levels so i don't know how it will be like yet.

In this blog, I'll write some journals of my life, TV shows, Movies, books, Pets and animals, and short stories. Yeah, these are my interests. I love to watch TV and movies. I'll write some reviews on the TV shows and movies I watched and also on books too.

And I love animals. My love for animals started since I was born, I guess. LOL. I loved animals since I can remember. I remembered the first movie I've watched was the Land Before Time. Is about dinosaurs. After watching that movie, I drew my first dinosaur. I love all kinds of animals. You name it; mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and fishes. Not insects though, I'm scared of them but I don't hate them. Many of them are beautiful like butterflies. Hehe. I'm currently keeping a puppy. I shall write about her some time under the section Dog Talk. So look up for it in my blog later, hehe.

As for about writing short stories, I'll write them and post in this blog and in fictionpress too. I plan to write about animal stories and fantasy fictions. Some will be just one-shots or multichapter stories so look up for them, hehe.
